We offer only superior quality decorative plaster to our customers. We have been scrupulous in our quest to ensure we are able to provide not only some of the best quality products, but also the most durable and long lasting plaster cornice available on the market. Every length of cornice leaving the workshop is handmade by highly skilled plaster craftsmen, using the highest quality materials for each piece. It is this superior quality that helps our products to stand the test of time. If the materials and processes used during manufacturing are sub standard, the cornices can become brittle and prone to cracking during installation and whilst in situ. Using inferior fibrous plaster cornice can cause a host of problems for your home, such as:
- Breakage during decorating
- Early replacement
- High wastage cost
Cornice Built to last
Greenwich Cornice uses only high grade materials during the manufacturing process. This means our product is strong and durable and built to last a lifetime. Our cornice will not crumble to the touch, or easily break off when it’s decorated or re-decorated in the future. Our cornice is made with traditional techniques using Lathes and Scrim. Lathes are strong thin lengths of wood that are added to the cornice mould during manufacture, they add excellent stability to the final product. Scrim is the name given to the sheets of hessian that go into the mould, scrims make the cornice less brittle by allowing the mould to flex slightly. We also ensure the correct thickness of plaster is added to our cornice moulds to help prevent any weak points and potentially unstable areas (see diagram below). We always use high grade plaster that has been prepared correctly and then cured the correct temperature, this ensures a consistent, strong and optimal plaster.
Greenwich cornice supplies and installs traditionally made decorative plaster mouldings that add value and character to your property.
